miss ene eats: Japanese vegetarian!

veg

My FIL is vegetarian so occasionally, we’d take him out for a family dinner. We checked out this place called Bespoke Japanese Vegetarian Restaurant located on level one of Sunshine Plaza. Thankfully, the boy made a dinner reservation because soon after we arrived, there were loads of people waiting for an available table!

On an earlier separate occasion, my mum dined at the same restaurant and declared the food yummy (background: My mum is not a huge vegetarian fan so if she says that it’s good, it must be good!).

We ordered a couple of items – sashimi, teriyaki chicken sticks, hotpot, unagi sushi, tempura, as well as their speciality, Deep Fried Shiitake Mushrooms with cream (extreme top-left photo). I would return just to eat ’em mushrooms! They were soooooo good.

The meal for 4 pax came up to slightly below $100 which we thought was pretty reasonable for good quality, authentic-tasting vegetarian Japanese food. Definitely recommended if you’re looking for a vegetarian casual restaurant with good food!

Note: The restaurant doesn’t have an English name on its signboard. The only word on it says “藤”. Not even sure how they got the name “Bespoke”, really.

    1. Hey hey! I know about Whole Earth and have eaten there. Also blogged about it – https://youdecidelor.wordpress.com/2012/07/04/whole-earth-peranakan-thai-vegetarian-restaurant/

We enjoyed our first visit very much (4 pax) and then returned with the extended family (8 pax) for dinner on another occassion. The food was no good! It seemed like they can’t cook in large quantities and it wasn’t a nice dining experience. Also, it’s really expensive :\
