Mum’s cooking: Fuzhou oyster cake

My mum used to make these regularly when we were kids but she hasn’t made them in a long while! Here she is hard at work in the kitchen making these little “UFOs” which is the local nickname given to these little “cakes”. Read more about them here.

For the record, I don’t eat oysters so mum always makes special-order ones for me sans oysters! LOVE.

I eat them with garlic chilli and when eaten fresh out of the wok, they’re like, the best. things. EVER.
