Supper date

Last night, we saw Carly Rae Jepsen and Psy perform live at the Social Star Concert, thanks to free tickets from SAFRA. Despite it being a “cool” night, it was still sweltering hot when you are stuck in a huge crowd. Coincidentally, the sister and her boy were also at the same concert so we hung out.

After the concert (we didn’t stay for CeeLo Green), we took a walk to Satay by the Bay for a late dinner. More like supper since it was 10pm.

I love the al fresco low tables and chairs! I believe it is meant to recreate the feel of the old Satay Club (are you old enough to remember it?) Unfortunately, loads of table were uncleared so the mess was unsightly. We had trouble finding one clean table.

We tried the satay from 五棵树 which was a recommendation on FourSquare (the middle store at the ‘chinese satay stalls’ side – the other side were halal satay stalls). Turned out to be a great decision because the pork satay was succulent and the gravy came piping hot! Super yums. There is only one (!) stall selling drinks and we had, quite possibly, the worst sugar cane drink ever in our life. It was diluted, and tasted like water with a hint of sugar cane. Avoid at all costs.

It was a lovely supper date!
