A surprise gift

I received a note in the mail, informing us that we have a parcel to be collected. Ooooh! I knew immediately that it’s from my ex-colleague Miss M. She’s married to a lovely man, Mr S and they are both living in Germany now. She knew that I’m getting married and sent me us a wedding gift. Awwwwww. So sweet lah :)

Check out the very pretty DHL box. It’s pink/yellow and has a princess-looking girl on it. How come our DHL boxes are all boring?!

The box felt pretty light (ok, so no live animal within – PHEW) and out popped this little package:

So cute! It has a little ladybird peg holding the string together. I turned the package around and look what I found!

gift3

2 bags of Haribo “Starmix” gummies! Hahahahaha. I wonder if they were acting as a “buffer” since they’re soft! I removed the string and card and there were 2 more surprises within:

gift4

More gummi bears! My favourite “goldbaren” gummi bears. I haven’t had gummies for a long long time. I used to lurve them so much, I could polish off bags after bags of them. Heh.

I unwrapped the gift excitedly…

Ta-dah! Salt and pepper shakers! They’re are called “Mr Salt” and “Mrs Pepper” respectively. Lots more designs here!

gift5

How cute are they?!

But now I’m a little confused. I always thought that the one-hole-at-the-top is for salt and the many-holes-at-the-top is for pepper? But as you can see from the picture above, it’s the other way around, i.e. Mr Salt (with many holes) and Mrs Pepper (with one hole)?

Can someone enlighten me? I’m a tad confused now.

Thank you so much for the thoughtful gift Miss S and Mr S! We do not actually own salt-and-pepper shakers so they’d definitely come in handy! :)

  1. U r right, don’t get confused. I recalled seeing some other design with many holes on top of Mrs Pepeer.
I hope you enjoyed eating the gummies. I could bring more to you next time. They represented sweet begining for your marriage and even sweeter at the end, thats why 2 bigger packs of gummies were pasted behind. :)
