Hair today, gone tomorrow.

I’ve done it.

Chopped off my hair, that is.

Turned up for my appointment with Dex and he promptly sat me down. He ruffled my long long hair for abit and said: Sure ah? Cut?

I have to admit I had a teeeeny bit of “OH NO! SHOULD I?” moment but I just had to think of all the time I’d save on washing and drying it every night and that thought was banished. Immediately.

“Yes, cut.”

I had to get my hair washed first but before I could make my way to the washing area, Dex took his pair of scissors and before I could say “CUT HAIR”, he snipped off about a 8cm of of my hair in all of 0.0000005 seconds. I had no time to react. The next thing I saw was my 8cm-worth-of-hair, falling to the ground dramatically. I thought I heard them go: Noooooooooooo!

Anyway, back to the haircut. Here’s me with significantly shorter hair already but we’re only halfway through.

Snip snip snip, it went.

Almost done. Here’s Dex working on styling it. Can I just say that I can *never* replicate the look he gives me on my own despite following his instructions down to a T? So my new haircuts always look the best the moment I step out of the salon. Grrrr.

Please ignore eye bags. I really need to learn how to work Photoshop. Thanks.

Ta-dah! That’s me post-haircut with nicely styled hair from Dex. I’m quite sure I will not be able to achieve this look on my own despite it looking seemingly easy. I snapped this photo of myself while waiting for the BGF and her groom try on their shirts at CYC @ Raffles Hotel. Yes, my BGF is getting married come August. Oh JOY!

And just so you can see how short it is, here goes:

I snapped this photo one day after the haircut. Notice how it’s siginificantly “flatter” already? Tsk tsk.

I have to say that I need to get used to the new haircut. I still get a bit taken aback whenever I see myself in the mirror. Heh.

    Nice !

When you wash your hair now, do you still pour a big amount of shampoo from the bottle, only to realise you don’t need that much for your short hair now ? :)

  2. U look great with short hair… look “cooling”. Just the right time to chop it off especially with the weather like this in Singapore.

  3. Dragonsis – Yes! I still keep pumping 5-6 times for the shampoo, then realise: Eh? No need so much! (pours back the rest into the bottle). Ha. And drying my hair now takes HALF the time which is AWESOME.

B****y Wife – Thanks! Yes, it’s a lot less fuss and with the crazy weather, it’s even better. When I was at the salon, I noticed quite a few girls getting their long hair chopped off as well. Heh.
